The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering quality projects across the local government area.
He said the major goal of his administration is to reposition the local government area through the implementation of projects that will have direct impact on the people of the area, with a view to opening the local government area for socioeconomic activities.
The council chairman stated this during a tour of some of the infrastructural projects being implemented by his administration across Emohua local government area on Wednesday.
The Emolga council Boss said the local government area is presently witnessing tremendous infrastructural development because it has a leadership that is focused and determined to change the narrative about the area, with a view to attracting investors to the area.
He added that the local government under his watch has made very difficult sacrifices to ensure that the area was placed amongst the best local government areas in the country.
Speaking further, Dr. Lloyd said himself and officers of the local government council have continued to sacrifice their personal benefits and entitlements for the development of the local government area, hence the infrastructural revolution witnessed across the area under his watch.
He however noted that some of the projects envisioned by his administration are being delayed because the local government area depends solely on federal allocation, due to lack of internally generated revenue but promised to complete all ongoing projects before the expiration of his tenure.
The council chairman charged contractors handling all ongoing projects across the area to intensify effort to have them delivered within the stipulated time and in line with the agreed specifications.
Some of the project sites visited include the 1 kilometer Eveku road with 2 kilometer drainage in Eveku-Odegu, the 1.5 kilometer Ukeli road with 3 kilometer drainage in Rundele, the fencing and security tower building at the divisional police headquarters and court complex in Rumuji town, the Emohua local government vigilante services secretariat building at Mgbuitanwo junction along the East-West road.
Other sites visited are; the construction of ultramodern Emohua local government council secretariat (administrative building), the reconstruction and remodeling of Emohua local government legislative council complex, the construction of 500 seater pavilion, the construction of 350 capacity ICT studio named after Chief Emeka Woke, the four hospital wards Emohua local government healthcare center, the staff canteen, the council chapel and marriage registry, the 20,000 gallons braithwaite water reticulation project, as well as the completion of the abandoned office complex building in the council secretariat.
Dr. Chidi Lloyd was accompanied on the project tour by the auditor general of Local Governments in Rivers State, Mr. Friday Bema.
